Perseverance (by Cheryl Lim)

My parents, teachers and principal, Mr Chia, always encourage me to persevere in what I do. My father tells me my results are horrible and tries his best to help me. My parents tell me to persevere so that, one day, I can be a useful citizen in Singapore.

When I play the piano, I always face difficulties. I really wanted to give up but when I heard Mr Chia announcing that the school is getting a piano for the stage, I was excited. I wish I could perform but my classmates, Zhi Yi and Vanessa, can play the piano very well. If I practise very hard, perhaps my teacher will choose me to perform on stage.

Don't worry, Cheryl. What's special about Rainbow Day is that every child gets a chance to perform. You don't have to be perfect or the best. You can perform if you are willing to showcase your talent. (Mrs Tay)
