Thanks for your concern

Dear Pupils,

Thank you for all the lovely cards you've made for me and the e-card. They really cheer me up! I'm feeling fine but I can't exert myself much because of the wound. Don't worry, I'll be back as soon as I can. I'm bored at home, so I'll prepare more worksheets for you... okay!!??

I know you've started the topic on Bar Graphs, so I've placed some relevant weblinks for you.

Missing all of you...

Mrs Tay

Rainbow Day 3 Performances by 3A

Relive your moments of glory...

Open House

On 19 July 2008, Endeavour Primary School had its first Open House in conjunction with Racial Harmony Day and Rainbow Day. Many people came to the school. At 10 a.m., everyone assembled at the hall to watch the Rainbow Day performance. The Racial Harmony Rap was my favourite performance. 'Leave it all to me', sung by my classmates, Katrina, Kate, Phu and Hmu, was my next favourite. I enjoyed the whole programme very much. I am happy to be in Endeavour Primary School.
- by Shawn Goh

My mum was very excited about the Open House because she knew I would be performing up on the stage. I wish my dad had come too.
- by Shawn Pang

It was an exciting day for me. First of all, I helped to show the parents and guests our classrooms and other rooms. The guests looked very happy. After that, I had to perform in two items.
- by Vanessa Tan

When I reached school, I saw the pupils in different types of costumes. And it's so colourful! My duty was to bring the guests around the school. They looked very interested in the school. I hope they will send their children to Endeavour Primary School as it is a wonderful place for students.

I was helping Mrs So in the computer lab. I created a short video on a trip to the zoo.
- by Sherman Lim

After the concert, my father and I visited my classroom. When my father saw my art work displayed on the wall, he was so happy!
- by Thu Ta

My mum invited my aunt, cousins and some friends to our school. They liked my performance with Kate, Hmu and Phu. This time, when I was performing, I was not nervous anymore.

The 3 Rs (by Victor Ooi)

During assembly on Wednesday, Mrs Chen from the NEA SembCorp told us about the 3 R's, Reuse, Reduce and Recycle. She told us how wasteful Singapore can be and how we can help to recycle things.

We can recycle items by putting them into recycling bins. Plastic, metal, paper and clothes can be recycled. Non-recycling items include sweet wrappers, used tissue and food waste.

She also told us to start recycling from that day. I will do my best to keep the environment cleaner. I will start to recycle from now onwards and I will pass the message to others.

Assembly Talk on 3 R's (by Shawn Goh)

Today, we listened to a talk on the environment. The speaker talked about the 3 R's, Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. She told us what are the things that can be recycled and what cannot be recycled.

Food, sweet wrappers, laminated paper and kitchen utensils are examples of things that cannot be recycled. Old clothes and unwanted assessories, like old handbags and necklaces, can be reused by other people. Aluminium cans, plastic containers, unwanted paper and rinsed milk cartons can be recycled.

The rubbish that we throw away are burnt in the incinerator. Recycling is less harmful to the environment.

What is Integrity?

When I forget to do my homework, I will own up. That is integrity.
- Kai Boon

Integrity is all about being honest and trustworthy.
- Victor

Integrity means being honest and having high moral standards. Being honest is really important. It's hard to win back one's trust if it's broken. If my friends tell me a secret, I see to it that I keep it to myself.
- Katrina

To have integrity, one must have honesty and trustworthiness. If you make promises to somebody and keep breaking them, the person may not trust you again.
- Zhi Yi

To have integrity, I must be honest and sincere. When we find things that do not belong to us, we must return them.
- Phu

Integrity means having honesty, honour, decency.
- Vanessa

Integrity means honesty and strength of character. One day, a 2B pupil found some money but she did not keep it. She gave it to me, a prefect, and I passed it to Mr Yaidi. I am happy because the girl shows integrity. I commended her. Integrity is the virtue we have to cultivate in our hearts.

Snippets from our Malacca Trip

It was my first time going on a trip to another country with my friends. I was so excited on the night before that I could not sleep.
- Shawn Goh

On our way to Malacca, we spotted a rainbow. And our trip turned out to be a colourful one!
- Victor

At the bee farm, they let us taste the different types of honey.
- Phu

They showed us how the latex was obtained from the rubber tree. When it became coagulated, it was like a piece of white 'toufu'. Then we put it in a machine and squeezed out the liquid. When this was really dry, we tried to tear it apart but we couldn't.
- Vanessa

My dad and I really enjoyed doing our first batik painting!
- by Mavis

We learnt how to dress up in a sarong. All the girls got a shot at being 'models'!
- Leona

I learnt from the guide that, in the olden times, when the Malays moved house, they would actually gather people and used pillars to lift the entire house!
- Zhi Yi

It was fun shopping with Mrs Tay and Mr Tay.
- by Hmu

Leona and Vanessa were supposed to sleep in another bedroom, but Vanessa was afraid of the dark. In the end, they shared a bedroom with Hmu and me. Vanessa and I hugged each other and fell asleep.
- Kelly

Whilewe were walking up St Paul's Hill, we saw a ship. The guide told us that it was a model. The actual ship sank years ago. There was treasure in it!
- Dale

The food was delicious!
- Hui Tat

We went to an orphanage. We were very shy but we talked to the children there.
- Yu Ying

On our way back to Singapore, we sang and did a rap. The parents cheered for us.
- Jun Loong

It was truly a new learning experience for me.
- by Katrina

It's the best trip ever!
