Teachers' Day Celebration

We can hip hop!
Many of our 3A pupils helped to make Teachers' Day a memorable day for all our teachers.

Leona and Kate were the emcees for the event. Though it was the first time they were emcees, they did a wonderful job! Way to go, Leona and Kate!

The Maths Olympiad team conducted a survey to determine the winners of the Teachers' Day Awards. They used the UMPC to collect data over three days during recess.

There were different awards - Friendliest Teacher Award, Most Beautiful Smile Award, Most Cheerful Teacher Award, Most Macho Teacher Award, Cutest Teacher Award, Best-dressed Teacher (Male and Female) Awards.

(Thanks for your votes!!)

Dominic, our head prefect, presented the certificates and prizes to the teachers.

Katrina dedicated a song, 'Children of Yesterday's Dream', to the teachers.

The choir sang 'Top of the World'.

The P1 pupils played a 'Who's the Teacher' game. They have to match the pictures of the teachers to their names. Vanessa operated the laptop to show the slides and ensured the P1 pupils knew how to use the laptop to play the game.

The cake-cutting!

Learning Journey to the Science Centre

(by Dominic Lau)

Our class went to the Science Centre on 27 August.

We went to the Eco Garden. I saw many different types of plants, e.g. ginger, banana plant, water lily, rose, etc. Some of the plants have very strange names, e.g. 'mother-in-law plant' and 'old man cactus'. After half an hour's walk, we proceeded to a laboratory.

We were given some ingredients to make our own salad. There were raisins, cabbage, an apple, a carrot, a tomato and others. After we had finished making our salad, we ate it. It was delicious!

It was a really fun trip. I would to go to the Science Centre again.

Most Compassionate Pupil

Echano Matthew Andrews is our Most Compassionate Pupil. Congratulations!

Even Vanessa, in her writing on 'Compassion', mentioned him...

Compassion (by Vanessa Tan)
Do you know who in our class shows compassion? It is MATTHEW! When someone is hurt or unhappy, he comforts the person. When someone is treated badly or bullied, he will tell the teacher about it. I am really glad to have a group member like him!
